"I've never known what the flag's supposed to mean."

February 2019

As we all know, the Brexit is a reality that will happen sooner than we all thought. The deadline is making its way toward us slowly but surely and many voices are raising to tell the world what their country truly mean to them.

That's all the project of the Young Vic Theatre. The organisers gather fourteen theatre makers across England and asked them to write a monologue about what Englishness meant to them. They also asked different English artists to explain the meaning of that notion, in general and for them. These monologue were next read by the same English artists in different locations of the country.

These short movies were released not so long ago and we could find that Chris has participated in this project. The monologue was written Jaavad Alipoor and "is a meditation on the Yorkshire landscapes, and a poetic journey through the relationship between man, machine, and mud."

I'll now leave you to discover Chris' performance on this engaged project.
