"It is a pleasure to create an entire world yourself and to commune with the author in that way is very exciting."

03.11.2019

As announced earlier this year, Chris was part of that first day of the 2019 edition of the London Book Fair that opened this morning. He was a speaker of the panel Audiobooks: Innovative Strategies, Tactics and Inspiration alongside A.J. Hartley, author of Cold Bath Street and many more titles, Debbie Williams, member of UCLAN Publishing, Charlotte Melén and Jo Forshaw.

During this conversation, Chris declared that "an audiobook recording needs to be intimate and capture the telling of a live reading." He also said that Sean Penn was what brought him in the world of the audiobook: because "it was a very rich experience to hear a California Sean Penn read a Midwestern Bob Dylan’s memoir" and hat he really felt like he was listening to Dylan as he got into the book. He confessed his love for audiobooks and added that "it is a pleasure to create an entire world yourself and to commune with the author in that way is very exciting.".

Chris is really involved in creating audio versions of books. We've spoken a lot about A.J. Hartley's Cold Bath Street lately but he also narrated The Borrowers by Mary Norton (5,99€ on iTunes), Barry the Penguin's Black and White Christmas by Lesley Ross and John-Victor (8,99€ on iTunes) and The John Lennon Letters (19,99€ on iTunes) to only mention those ones.
